Chris Noble MCSP HCPC
Senior Physiotherapist and clinic manager

Chris qualified from the University of Northumbria in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.  He has worked extensively across a variety of clinics and settings throughout the North East and Teesside. His experience includes private clinics, occupational health, sports injuries and NHS work. 

In addition to managing the clinic at Sunderland, Chris currently leads two occupational health contracts based in the region, having previously spent 7 years in the physiotherapy department at Nissan. 

Chris’s philosophy is a holistic but ‘hands on’ approach to physiotherapy treatment, whilst also being acupuncture qualified. He is keen on treating a variety of conditions, but particularly ones that have be present for a while, such as chronic spinal conditions. 

Chris is available for appointments on a Tuesday/Friday and alternate Wednesdays. 


Lindsey - Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic

Lindsey Graham MCSP HCPC AACP
Senior Physiotherapist

Lindsey graduated from Brunel University, London in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She returned to the North East after her studies and began work as a Junior Physiotherapist at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

In 2004 she started working at a private physiotherapy clinic in Newcastle, specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

In 2005 she became a member of the Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists (AACP).

Lindsey has worked at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic since 2010. Originally based in Sunderland Aquatic Centre (and called Totally Tranquil). The business has grown in recent years. In January 2013 the team and services grew and the clinic relocated to Mere Knolls Road.

Lindsey has over the years developed a keen interest and qualifications holistic and complementary therapies.

She has a special interest in Women’s Health Physiotherapy, in particular, pre/ post natal care and fertility support.

Lindsey also offers the Mummy MOT and Women’s Health Services at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic.

Lindsey is available for daytime appointments on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.


Pete Simpson MCSP HCPC
Senior Physiotherapist

Pete graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Northumbria University in 2006. 

He worked for several trusts in Northern Ireland before relocating with his wife to Sunderland in 2014.

For the last 4 and a half years he has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist for County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust as well as seeing clients at a private clinic. 

He has experience in treating all Musculoskeletal injuries but has a particular interest in the Cervical Spine (neck). 

Pete has recently completed his Injection Therapy training in conjunction with Keele University. 


He is available at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic on Monday and Thursday evenings.














Sophie Maw
Sports Massage Therapist

Sophie graduated from University of Sunderland in 2014 with a degree in Sports and Exercise Development.

Wanting to improve her knowledge further and develop her interest in anatomy, physiology and injury prevention, she went on to study Level 3 Sports Massage qualifying in 2015, enhancing her skills to level 4 in 2018.

She then completed a Diploma in Pregnancy Massage in 2016. 

Sophie joined the team at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic in May 2016 and also works with Houghton Rugby Club providing pre & post match sports massages as well as pitch side first aid for the first team.

She is qualified in Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Swedish Massage and is available for clinic appointments weekdays/ evenings and alternate Saturday mornings.


Hannah Wylie MCSP HCPC
Senior Physiotherapist

Hannah joined the Physiotherapy team June 2019. 


She is available for evening and Saturday morning appointments.

Debs is currently on maternity leave.

Debs graduated from Northumbria University in 2006 with an Advanced Diploma in Nursing. She went on to work as a Staff Nurse in Neo-Natal care.

With a desire to study further and follow her first love of Physiotherapy, she was able to gain a place at the University of Ulster in 2008, studying BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy.

In 2011 Debs finished her degree with First Class Honours and continued into employment, whilst working towards her Masters degree.

Debs has since worked within the NHS and in private Physiotherapy Clinics in the UK. She is a holistic physiotherapist, promoting over all well-being with her management and treatment techniques.

She is qualified in Acupuncture, Massage, Reflexology and is also a qualified Yoga teacher.

Debs provides the Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture service at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic.


Debs joined the team in Jan 2016. She is due back off maternity leave March 2020, with days and times to be confirmed.

Nathan Skidmore MSc. GSR
Sports therapist/ rehabilitator

Nathan graduated with distinction in 2018 from Teesside University with an MSc in Sports Rehabilitation. 

He is a member of the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) and specialises in musculoskeletal disorders with a specific emphasis on elite sporting performance.

He has a wealth of skills, additionally acquired during his BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and during study of Advanced Trauma Management, Osteopathic Spinal Manipulation, Kinesiology Sports Taping and Sports Massage.

Nathan has previously worked with several professional and semi-professional clubs such as Sunderland AFC, Hartlepool United, Darlington FC and many Northern League Football Clubs. 

He currently works in Rugby Union and also supports the Volleyball England national teams. 


He has a keen interest in pediatric injury rehabilitation and in knee injuries. He is also qualified in medical acupuncture.

Nathan is available for appointments Mondays and Thursdays. 

Gail Smith MCSP HCPC
Senior Physiotherapist

Gail qualified from Northumbria University in 2004 with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy.

She worked initially in the NHS for 2 years, completing all core rotations before moving to a private physiotherapy company and then a private physiotherapy practice. She gained a wealth of experience within the musculoskeletal field including GP practice, occupational health and medico-legal.

In 2013 she returned to the NHS,  gaining experience in rheumatology, occupational health, pre and post operative orthopaedic rehabilitation and hand therapy.

Gail has additional training in acupuncture and clinical pilates and a special interest in headaches, knee, hip and shoulder rehabilitation.

As a physiotherapist she is passionate about helping clients to return to their full potential.


Gail is available Monday and Thursday mornings. 

Pauline Revell
Business Administrator

Pauline is our Business Administrator and works Monday, Thursday and Friday daytimes.

Lauren Smith
Part time receptionist

Lauren is currently in her final year studying BSc (Hons) Sociology at the University of Sunderland. After graduating she plans to continue her studies with a Masters in Human Resource management. 

Lauren is our part time evening and weekend receptionist and joined the team at Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic in October 2019.
