Introducing CranioSacral Therapy (CST) to Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic.
What is CranioSacral Therapy?
It is a very gentle hands on technique which works with your body’s natural ability to heal itself.
It does this by affecting the central nervous system encouraging it to assist in improving function within the whole body.
What happens during a CST treatment?
Treatment takes place with you lying fully clothed usually on your back.
The therapist will apply a 5 gram pressure to release and redirect the fascia (connective tissue) of your body. This will intern improve the movement within the Cranio-Sacral system thus releasing tight structures and promote your bodies healing process.
What can CST help with?
Because CST is working with the whole of your body there are many problems it can help with.
Some examples are:
– Chronic (long standing) pain
– TMJ (Jaw) problems
– Low energy levels, Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Benefits of CST
The benefits of CST are:
– An increased sense of relaxation
– An improvement of symptoms
– Reduced stress
– A change in behaviour patterns
– An improvement to psychological issues
– A reduction in the effects of trauma
