Mizan Therapy for Digestion

Mizan Therapy

Mizan (pronounced like Milan) Therapy is an Arabic word that means balance. By using traditional healing techniques, Mizan Therapists seek to restore balance when life feels unbalanced – physically, emotionally or spiritually. Mizan Therapy can be a great way to help digestion and digestive problems.

Mizan Therapy is a gentle, non- invasive effective way of massaging the abdomen, mid & lower back and legs, that helps to improve the flow of circulatory fluids of the blood, lymph and nervous systems to strengthen and nourish the muscles, ligaments and fascia (connective tissue) that hold the internal organs in their optimum positions.

The techniques are commonly used in (but not exclusive to) South American, Indian and Eastern societies. Mizan used a combination of many of these traditional healing methods.

Mizan is suitable for both Men and Women.

Mizan Therapy for Digestive problems

Digestive disorders can have a physical or emotional basis – often they go hand in hand and it’s impossible to say which came first. Many men are leading stressful lives and their digestive system suffers. Mizan Therapy can really help with this – and treats the cause rather than massing the symptoms as with taking medication.

Our language is full of expressions that connect our emotions and our digestion. Have you ever had “butterflies” in your stomach? A “lump” in your throat? Have you ever been moved by a strong and undeniable “gut feeling” about something or someone?

We store our anxieties and emotions in our bodies and a popular storage area is the abdomen, and the digestive system. This contributes to constipation, indigestion, heartburn and IBS.

Receiving Mizan Abdominal Therapy combined with self-care, dietary and lifestyle changes can make a huge difference to digestive and abdominal upsets. And when our digestive system is working properly, we feel so much better. Where appropriate we will recommend consulting with a Nutritional Therapist for further assessment.
